Interline Discounts vary by supplier and time of year. The best discounts will be found in the slow season when the suppliers (hotels, cruise lines, tour companies, rental car companies) have extra space they would like to move. The other time you will find excellent interilne discounts is on last minute travel. Most suppliers rely on airline employees who can travel with little notice to help fill space when they have last minute cancellations.

The ability and willingness to travel on short notice will mean airline employees can find excellent deals at any time, it is just a matter of where and how to get to the destination.

Interline Travel Information

Start with your airline's pass bureau for information on airfare discounts available to you on other airlines and for your travel companions. They are a great source of information as they deal with your fellow employees all day long and have great insight on routes and airlines other interliners are having success with in traveling standby.

Booking Interline discounts

Most suppliers offer their interline discount rates through authorized travel agencies who specialize in interline discounts. These agencies are known as "Interline Travel Agencies". Most of these interline agencies are located in North America with the largest being in the USA.

To see the interline discount rates most of the good interline travel agencies will require some proof of your eligibility so that the suppliers know that the interline discounts are not seen by the general public. If you do go to a site which claims to offer interline discounts but that anyone can access then it is very likely the rates you are seeing are not interline discounts.

Be aware that most interline agencies now charge you a booking fee of as much as $40 per person. Often this fee is hidden in the price quote you get. Many interline agencies do not include this booking fee in the initial quote and only roll it into the price when you go to book.

You can book your interline discount online or by calling their office at 800 766-2911 or in the DFW Area calling metro 817 481-8631. Their rates are the same or lower than all of the other interline agencies but with no additional fees.

You will need a user name and password to access to their site. In order to get a user name and password you need to email them at info@interlinetravel.com from an airline email address such as @delta.com, @coair.com, @sabre.com, etc or fax to them at 817 488-6291 proof of employment status such as a copy of your airline ID, a letter of employment or a copy of a paystub. If you fax them clearly print your email address on the fax so they will email you the access info.
